Job Listing: Systems Engineer

TEKsystems has partnered with a local firm in need of a Senior System Engineer to help grow and maintain their diverse enterprise environment including a top-notch data center.

The position is budgeted for permanent placement but we are filling the need under the contract-to-hire method. There is a possibility of direct permanent placement for the "perfect" candidate.

The core job requirements are as follows:

- Linux experience (redhat preferred)
- Virus Protection knowledge
- VMWare ESX Server 3.x and Virtual server 2.x configuration
- Backup procedures for hardware and software
- System monitoring software such as What’s up Gold or WSUS, SiteScope etc.


The duties of the job include:

- Primary responsibility for the administration of server related hardware and software
- Monitor and maintain the corporate server anti virus infrastructure
- Maintain the company DNS and DHCP environments
- Maintain highly available Microsoft Exchange 2003/file/print clustered resources
- Implement, configure, manage, document and monitor the ESX Virtual Machine environment 
- Configure, manage, and monitor ESX Server networking and SAN storage
- Provide expertise with vendors for estimates, software/hardware upgrades, technical support and equipment issues
- Manage and enable Security and Web Access to published applications and content
- Maintain server room
- Perform systems administration and maintenance tasks
- Implement disaster recovery plan and all elements of risk mitigation
