Job Listing: Principal Engineer

My Client, a leader in there respective industry of Telecommunications is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to work out of their South Florida location.

Description:
Join a small, dynamic team in the design and implementation of Embedded Linux based telephony products. This is a currently evolving product with significant opportunity for new ideas.

This is a hands-on position and must be a flexible / self driven individual. Expert knowledge and working experience with debugging environments and tools is essential. A large percentage of time will be developing and debugging on the SDK and in the lab on real hardware. Good knowledge and interest in software tools (compilers, linkers and debuggers, revision control, etc.) is essential. Knowledge of the software process is essential.

Position Requirements:

1) Primarily responsible for development of embedded system networking software for consumer electronics products

2) Design, code, and test object-oriented software written in C/C++ targeting embedded Linux platform

3) Tasks will include network protocol implementation, including streaming and integration with system applications

4) Coordination with team members and external groups on design, schedule and QA

5) Design and development of networking test beds

6) Development, documentation and communication of networking designs and interfaces

Qualifications:

1) MSCS/EE degree (or equivalent) required with a minimum of 8 years software development experience with at least 2 years in Linux/UNIX C/C++ environment

2) Experience in the following technology areas:

XML, SOAP, HTTP, RTP, RTSP, UDP, TCP
UPnP and other communication protocols, network media streaming
Open standards development and implementation
Network synchronization techniques
Middleware application development

    Salary and Benefits
