Job Listing: Fire Protection Project Engineer

Company Information: Our client, a 17-year old Fire Protection Engineering design and consulting firm, is located in Columbia, MD. We are currently working on a vast array of projects, providing the fire protection engineering design and life safety analysis that would provide a variety of work and very good experience for interested Fire Protection Engineers. Our projects are located in the Washington, DC region and various areas on the east coast. Salary and benefits are very competitive and will be commensurate with experience.

Description: Looking for all levels of experience. Completes projects and associated engineering and designs, consulting assignments, field surveys, and testing assignments. Conducts research involving building and fire codes, standards, technical documents, issues and subjects. Assists Project Managers in the development of reports, engineering calculations and designs, for timely completion of project scope requirements. Also serves as Project Manager for small to medium size consulting and design projects and may serve as assistant PM for larger scale projects.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science in Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline
- Knowledge of fundamental and advanced fire protection engineering principles
- Knowledge of building and fire codes and standards and related resources
- Experience with fire protection systems design, engineering, and layout
- Knowledge of basic engineering project management principles
- Skill in writing and editing
- Must be able to pass screening to work in government facilities
- Professional Engineering License (P.E.) a bonus, but not required
