A leading defense company is seeking a Manager of Data Acquisition.
Candidate will lead and manage an engineering department that develops and sustains airborne data acquisition products which utilize encryption/communication security. Plan and manage technical objectives and provide leadership to a group of 6-10 digital signal processing, digital (board-level and VHDL), and analog design engineers. As an engineering department manager, administrative responsibilities will include staffing, resource allocation, performance reviews, budgets, status reporting and staff development. Technical responsibilities include overseeing Technical Integrated Product Team meetings, developing and reviewing hardware designs as well as technical knowledge of FPGA, board and analog design. Additional responsibilities include working with Integrated Product Teams and maintaining close and cooperative contact with other company organizations (Program Management, Production, and Marketing). Support business development including developing technical proposal responses and assessing/planning future product developments is also required.
Required: BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, MS desired; 10 years experience. Minimum 3 years management experience for a group of 4 or more design engineers or equivalent experience. Experience with some or all of the technical areas: analog, embedded software/microprocessors, FPGA, DSP, and communications theory. Must be able to demonstrate strong engineering leadership skills. This position also requires developing positive relations with customers.
This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience developing products using NSA endorsed encryption devices is desired.
