Job Listing: Fire Protection Engineer

Our client, an Building Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Engineering consultant firm, has an immediate opening for a Fire Protection Engineer / Code Consultant, to join its Los Angeles team.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
-The Fire Protection Engineer will provide fire safety consulting engineering services for a variety of clients, including architects, developers, owners, insurers, and government
-Analyze the built environment and building projects under design for conformance with applicable building fire safety codes and standards.
-Apply computer fire modeling and egress modeling for the development of equivalencies or alternate designs to the code.
-Assist in the design of sprinkler and fire alarm systems with CAD based programs.
-Prepare and review drawings detailing the design as instructed.
-Prepare reports as requested.
-Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
-The Fire Protection Engineer / Code Consultant will hold a Master's level education in fire safety engineering/fire protection engineering or equivalent.
-2-3 years of relevant experience
-EIT/FE qualification.
-Good verbal and written communication skills.
-Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to adjust to a range of client or project needs and take on new challenges.
-Good interpersonal skills.
-Excellent planning and organization skills required for a professional, fast-paced environment.
