Job Listing: Structural Engineer

Our client in Ames, IA is currently looking for a Structural Engineer to join their team.

Responsibilities:

***At Least ONE or more of the following: AutoCAD, Revit, Microstation
***At least ONE or more of the following: RAM, RISA, or STAAD (or other applicable analysis packages)
***At Least 1+ years of work experience-- MUST BE IN AN ARCHITECTURAL OR STRUCTURAL BACKGROUND


EDUCATION: B.S. in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering
Completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Exam or in progress of Engineer in Training

Days/Week- M-F Hrs: 8a-5p.
OT: Possible and dependent upon project level. Possible OT on Saturdays dependent on workload

Will be responsible for helping with building design, drafting, and analysis. Communication via email and phone to potential and current clients. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in windows applications: excel, powerpoint, etc. Receiving, sending, and scanning of drawings as well as coordinating drawing from other consultants. It is an important function of this individual that they will be willing to spend 50% of time with design and analysis and 50% of time with CAD or microstation drafting.

***Knowledge of structural concrete and steel in strongly preferred
***Knowledge of masonry, precast, or reinforced concrete a plus
***Willingness to learn and a drive to succeed and excel
***Commercial and industrial building—Not housing/residential
