Job Listing: Oracle DBA

TEKsystems has teamed up with one of its leading clients to hire an Oracle DBA. This candidate must be able to convert to a permanent employee, if necessary.


SKILLS:

-5 years of experience as a database administrator in an Oracle environment with at least one year using version 10g.

-2 years must have been in administration of an Oracle data warehouse.

-Familiarity with the Informatica ETL tool and business intelligence tools such as Cognos and MicroStrategy is a plus.

-Experience with very large databases a plus.

-Configurating Solaris servers in the data center to include performance tuning and optimizing the Solaris servers when required

-Solaris 10 operating system

-Oracle 10g RDBMS

-Configuring storage, SAN, CPU and RAM for maximum utilization and performance

-Solid understanding of virtualization

-Installed and Configured Web-servers, applications, databases and APIs in Unix environment, preferably Sun Servers

-Extensive experience in integrating web-servers, applications and databases sitting on different servers, behind multiple firewalls

-Worked in large shared infrastructure environment and data centers catering to multiple applications/projects

-Good understanding of overall Data Warehousing principles and methodology is a plus

-Good interpersonal skills and capability to work with other system administrators and infrastructure architects


We are looking for someone who will be able to:

-Work independently in project data center

-Will maintain and configure components according to industry best practice

-Is cognizant of security

-Will leverage knowledge and experience with wide variety of technologies to help project achieve goals, crucial milestones and requirements

-Isinnovative and able to formulate and deploy technological solutions to complex business problems

-Will ensure that data center is compliant with any security/customer requirements

-Knowledge of 3-Tier architecture a plus.


This position is in Baltimore, MD and is currently available for hire. The contract will be for 8 months and rate will vary on experience.
