Job Listing: Research Associate

Our client is a leading biotechnology company focused on developing proteases as a therapeutic platform for inflammation, cardiovascular, and angiogenesis-based disorders. They are currently in search of a Research Associate to assist with their Research and Development operations.

Research Assistant/Associate, Protein Expression and Purification (Temporary)

The Research Assistant/Associate will be primarily focused on protein production for pre-clinical studies. This includes, but is not limited to, expression in both mammalian and bacterial systems, protein refolding from inclusion bodies, and protein purification. Additional responsibilities include protein analysis using such techniques as Western blotting and ELISAs, as well as enzyme assays. Attention to detail and an understanding of the principles of protein expression and purification are required. Excellent written and oral communication skills are important, as well as the ability to work in a team based environment.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry or other relevant field.
- Previous protein purification experience is preferred
- Proficiency in general biochemical techniques including Western blotting, spectrophotometric assays, protein electrophoresis, and ELISAs.
Preference given to candidates with one or more of the following:
- Experience in protein purification
- Familiarity with enzyme kinetics
- Experience working with mammalian cell culture
