Job Listing: Commodity Manager

A mid-sized company in the Elmwood Park area has an immediate opening for a Commodities Manager, the qualifications for this opportunity are as follows:

-Commodity Manager will lead the development and implementation of the purchasing supply strategy for a commodity group, supporting business objectives. This includes identifying, selecting and managing a global supply base which meets our business needs.

-Commodity Manager will drive for effective global procurement process, for specified commodities, to meet objectives for materials availability, supplier performance improvement, buyer productivity improvement, and continuous price reduction.

-Commodity Manager will lead negotiations with suppliers for price, quality, delivery and service requirements.

-Develop and manage adequate supplier relations

-Lead and facilitate the selection and qualification of new suppliers

-Develop and coordinate new supply agreements

-Commodity Manager will develop and manage supply processes and procedures to ensure that time to market and time to volume schedules are met.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
Commodity manager should also have an understanding of six sigma.
