Job Listing: Sr. Project/ Project Substation Engineer

Highly regarded Rocky Mountain Utilities Company is actively seeking a Substation Engineer to join its team located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This position will be filled at either the Sr. Project Engineer or the Project Engineer based on skill level and organizational need.
Sr. Project Engineer: $75,401-$88,000
Project Engineer: $51,000-$75,000

Qualified candidates will offer the following:
- BS in Electrical Engineering (power emphasis preferred)
- Knowledge of substation and transmission system operations
- Experience with ground grid design
- Experience with static protection
- Excellent forecasting and planning skills
- Experience with monitoring budget and expenditures

The Substation Engineer will be involved in critical projects supporting the tremendous growth of our community. This includes capacity additions to existing substations as well as completely new substation design and project management.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Update equipment specifications (transformers, breakers, switchgear, switches, capacitor banks, etc.)
- Purchasing major electrical substation equipment including attending design and testing reviews with manufacturers
- Managing projects: creating Gantt Charts to track substation project
- Engineer the mechanical and electrical substation packages for construction
- Write up energizing procedures and oversee the energizing process
