Job Listing: Websphere Portal Developer

TEKsystems is in search of a Websphere Portal Developer for a contract-to-hire opportunity with one of our clients in Nashville, TN.

Job Summary:
The Portal Developer is responsible for business solution analysis, design, configuration, development, and testing in a Portal environment. They are also responsible for the support and administration of the company's portal environment.

Job Responsibilities:
Maintain, develop and deploy the company's portal framework.

Understand functional specifications and write corresponding technical design specifications.

Develop and test portal based solutions based on technical design specifications.

Gather user feedback on portal based solutions, and incorporate that feedback into the solution as required.

Integrate the portal framework with other technology solutions -- such as the ESB / BPM framework, Business Intelligence, document management repositories, identity management, and others -- as appropriate in solutions.

Respond to and resolve issues with the production portal framework environment.

Provide guidance on the optimal deployment of the portal framework to ensure appropriate availability and performance.

Work with the portal framework vendor to understand their solution's product roadmap, and make recommendations as appropriate to it's usage.

Stay abreast of IT industry trends as they relate to portal frameworks and system user interaction, and make recommendations as to their usage.

Conceive and create portal based Pocks to test new capabilities and to help communicate the value of the portal framework.

Perform other duties as assigned.
