Job Listing: Applications Project Manager

TEKsystems is a seeking a senior project manager for a contract to hire opportunity in the Grand Rapids area for work at a client site.

The successful candidate will have five plus years experience in a systems analyst or business analyst or project management role acting as a liaison between the business and the technical team. The candidate must also understand the processes and application and how they fit within the goals of the business unit. This person will support users in building business cases including cost/benefit analysis, risk assessment, project scope and development of a high level plan. This person will also conduct sessions with customers to obtain and document their business requirements. Candidate will also conduct preliminary estimates for the level of effort of new/changed application functionality and estimate the level of effort of new applications.

Experience working in the application development with the ability to read and understand code is required. Group is a Powerbuilder group, but Powerbuilder is not required. The candidate must also possess a thorough knowledge of development tools and techniques, preferably Object Oriented technologies. Five years experience with a major database, such as Informix, Oracle, SQL or Sybase is also required. Experience integrating third-party tools such as OCX's or OLE objects into object-oriented applications would be a plus.
