Job Description:
Provide telephone based support to the clients internal/external customers. Login to live transfer shift as scheduled and effectively manage your time to be available to take internal/external customer calls. Actively review your open cases and drive towards timely resolution. Follow up with customers when promised/scheduled. Work toward a "Work In Progress" (queue) no larger than 15 cases. Escalate calls in a timely manner to the appropriate level that include accurate and complete information. Follow through on commitments, including assignments, meeting attendance and other tasks as assigned.
Must Haves:
Solaris OS internals, C programming language and sparc assembly language. Ability to read and diagnose core files.
Preferred Experience:
Solaris 10 System Administration Certification. Strong communication and customer management skills. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to work as an effective team member. The ability to act in a team lead capacity and provide training and guidance to other Technical Support Engineers.
Marginal Functions:
Knowledge of Sun sparc, x86 and storage products.
