Job Listing: Seasoned Java/J2EE Developer

A client of TEKsystems, is seeking a motivated Senior Software Engineer to design, implement and support software applications used by its staff and clients. This position is based in their downtown Chicago office.

Responsibilities include: design and develop software solutions to project requirements; assist and train support staff; contribute to and maintain process improvements. Additional senior responsibilities include: leading teams of 2 - 5 members; and working with Business Analysts to develop requirements, test plans and release plans.

Required Experience
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent (master's preferred), with at least 5 years career experience in all phases of software development, including requirements, design, implementation, support and the product release cycles. Must have experience as a team lead or mentoring developer. Experience in object-oriented programming (preferably with Java) and database management (Oracle and/or MS SQL Server) are required. Candidates must have substantial knowledge of: Java and J2EE technologies; XML; UML; Web development (Apache, HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, and CSS); Software development methodologies (RUP, XP, Scrum). Ideal candidates will also have knowledge/experience in any of the following: Portal technologies like Plumtree, SharePoint and BEA WebLogic Portal, Microsoft-centric technologies (.NET, ASP, COM, VB); scripting (Ruby, Python, Perl, AWK); project management (MS-Project); familiarity with Survey or Market Research is a plus.

    Salary and Benefits

    Rate: $90,000 to $110,000 per Year
