Job Listing: Database Administrator

Our Client is seeking a full time SQL/Oracle DBA.

-Responsibilities include performance monitoring/tuning, production database troubleshooting, backup/recovery, and supporting security administration for database access, application code migration, storage management, 3rd party product support. Provide user support in problem resolution, application/database testing, change control, and database integration into the production environment.

-Must have a solid understanding of logical/physical modeling, database design principles, database administration methodologies and techniques, system development lifecycle and system integration knowledge.

-Successful candidates must understand the business processes to ensure that database architectures and data flows are meeting business needs.

-The successful candidate is expected to have current knowledge of the technology industry, and will be expected to explore/recommend ways for the business to leverage technology to gain and maintain a competitive advantage. Working with vendors for outsourced services as per the established standards will be required.


-Minimum of 5 years of strong production DBA experience in MS SQL Server/Windows (2000 / 2005) and Oracle (10g) /Unix environments. Advanced knowledge of database technical concepts, such as: physical data modeling, performance tuning, backup/recovery, Oracle transportable tablespaces, SQL Server Security.

-Minimum of 5 years of experience working with various data management systems, physical database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration. Demonstrated aptitude for technical aspects of database administration.
