Job Listing: Substation Engineer

We are currently seeking a Substation / High Voltage Engineer for a leader in optimized energy solutions in the Portland, OR area. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth experience with electrical substations, transmission systems, distribution systems, or power generation design.

- Work with project management / construction groups in commissioning and testing of substations, transmission interconnection facilities, and other power delivery systems.
- ensure compliance with design standards and accuracy of documentation / test data.
- Provide input to design standards for electrical infrastructure in power projects.
- Prepare procedures & conduct training for Operations / Maintenance personnel on high-voltage switchgear operations.
- Assist Operations / Maintenance personnel with other infrastructure components such as (but not limited to): generators, frequency converters, capacitor, and reactor banks.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated design and operations experience with distribution and transmission substation voltages up to 230 kV.
- Computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, email, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics /electrical one-line diagrams.
