Our client's Information Systems team is looking for a talented and flexible MES Applications Engineer to help achieve our ambitious goals.

Over the next few months, the team will participate in the implementation of MES functionality to support plant operations including product handling, product tracking and equipment optimization.

The MES Applications Engineer will be the primary resource for MES support in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. The MES Applications Engineer will assist with these and other projects as needed, performing functions such as application configuration, systems integration, process optimization, and process startups using new technologies.

The successful candidate will have the ability to contribute to projects for any functional area of the company.

Essential Functions:

Elicit and document user requirements.

Assist with selection, implementation and support of purchased software, and/or the design, implementation and support of custom developed systems that meet end user requirements.

Perform application configuration/development services to support 24/7 plant operations.

Provide implementation support to project leaders, expansion, maintenance, and operations.

Perform programming, system configuration, and maintenance on the interfaces to client's RFID/RTLS (Real Time Location Services) system to support operations.

Provide timely technical support including design, layout, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance services for
Manufacturing Execution Systems.

Participate in design reviews, process hazard analysis, and process safety startup reviews.

Provide training & documentation as required.

Provide guidance regarding the disaster recovery plan associated with MES/RTLS/RFID.

Manage multiple priorities.




Other Responsibilities:

Follow standards for development processes, tools, and platforms.

Work with other members of the business community and Information Systems (DBAs, Developers, and Operations) to optimize interfaces to other back office systems.

Actively participate in Information Systems meetings within primary site and remote sites.

Partner with operations to ensure that maximum value is being derived from system.

Participate in the selection of architecture and tools.

Collaborate with IS Operations team on system management, testing and deployment.

Provide on-call support as required.

Represent Information Systems function to all customers in a positive and professional manner.

Stay apprised of emerging trends and technologies and make recommendations for their use at Client

Other tasks as needed to meet department and company goals and objectives.

Required Skills



A.A. or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems.

GE Fanuc (Tracker)/Cimplicity experience desired.

Experience with DCS Control Systems integration.

Yokogawa experience desired.

Experience with RFID/RTLS systems.

Experience developing in Microsoft .NET

Experience with VBS.

Knowledge of industry standard integration methods including OPC, etc.

Microsoft SQL server experience desired.

Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Demonstrated ability to achieve results with strong organizational skills.
