Job Listing: LOCOMOTIVE APPLICATION ENGINEER
Volt is currently working with a recognized world leader in the design and manufacture of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, and industrial gas turbines. This well established multi billion dollar company located in Central Illinois, has an urgent need for a Locomotive Application Engineer. This position will be working with locomotive control systems. Applications include remanufactured road locomotives. Successful candidate will be responsible for interfacing with customers, developing locomotive unique system requirements and identifying technical needs. Implements common components and systems developed for locomotive applications. Works within a team to ensure programs are delivered on time at or below cost and reliability targets and meeting or exceeding technical requirements. The position will also have platform responsibility for the development, testing, validation and integration of the electrical/electronic systems and subsystems. Responsibility will include engine controls, engine power management, emission reduction systems, traction control, auxiliary generator control and the auxiliary electrical system. Components include alternators, generators, switchgear, auxiliary motors, engine and locomotive ECM's, GPS receivers and other auxiliary electrical components.

Required Skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
BS/MS in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering
MINIMUM of 3-5 Years Experience
Fast Paced Environment
Electronic Engine System Development & Project Management Experience
Ability to create requirements for complex systems & subsystems
Simulink/Matlab and Locomotive experience is a PLUS!
