Job Listing: Communication Director

The client is looking for the position of a Communications Director to work with Senior Staff to develop and executive a broad range of proactive strategic communications that emphasizes a team approach to communications.

The Communications Director is expected to recommend, shape, and implement the communications strategy of the company.

Ensure the company is widely and positively represented in the business press and industry and vertical market publications.

Coordinate with business development to keep industry analysts informed.

Determine publication, messaging and timing to support new business activity.

Identify speaker commitments, in coordination with business development

Develop an annual communication plan to ensure consistent, high-impact activities and messaging

Manage media relations and serve as the primary contact for all media requests and interviews

Support executive communications, presentations at conferences, messages to customers, underwriters, employees.

Counsel the Company’s management team on effective communication strategies, including execution of PR/marketing strategy and pitch planning.

Trade show marketing campaign execution are also part of the responsibilities of this position.

The Director must have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, a background in media relations with strong contacts and track record. Superb written and verbal communication skills are essential to success in this role.

Excellent organization and prioritization skills are a must, as well as creativity. Ability to juggle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work independently.

Well developed interpersonal skills for internal and external communications, and a track record in communications with an emphasis on advocacy, and brand building.

Proven success in pitching and placing stories in key industry media; strong media pitching skills

Proficient with database architecture, web-based graphics, and maintenance with a familiarity with HTML and demonstrated capabilities media programs.

Keen interest in and familiarity with aerospace industry.

Excellent strategic, research and planning skills.

Demonstrated ability to conceptualize a vision, analyze patterns of information and external trends, and develop and implement effective marketing plans.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
