Main Purpose of Job
The Technical Consultant role is a customer facing role, aimed at providing customers with in depth support on the implementation and configuration of Enterprise level Oracle based applications and desktop tools. The Technical Consultant will be participate in all technical aspects of the product implementation, including technical architecture, rules design and development, interface design and development, report design and configuration, installation of the products, setting up the underlying databases. Working on projects includes scripting and development using development tools, working closely with RF engineers on taking business processes and turning them in to programmable rule-sets.
Key Responsibilities
- Specify, deliver, install, and configure the NSM products according to the requirements and specifications developed
- Create scripts for data loading using products
- Develop and test product rules for products using knowledge of the product and RF domain skills
- Install, setup, and manage production databases with the help of data base experts
- Provide technical consultancy and guidance to customer’s project team
- Implement and optimize scripts based on functional specifications from RF engineers
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance and data loading
- BS in Computer Science or related discipline
- At least 4 years of experience with integration techniques, software development, scripting and enterprise databases – maintenance and support.
- Thorough knowledge of
- Oracle 10g Enterprise
- Development processes and languages such as Java
- Scripting languages such as PHP and JavaScript
- Installation of servers in the Citrix environment
- Windows Server, Windows XP, Linux, Unix
- LDAP and authentication
- IIS and Apache
- Familiar with deployment of business critical, high availability systems in a mixed hardware (Solaris/Unix/Linux/Windows Server) environment
- Familiar with basic database administration, such as table modifications, database sizing, and security administration.
- Familiar with enterprise scale applications (not just desktop products).
Working Conditions
When assigned to a project you may be expected to travel to a customer’s site when requested by your Regional PSO Manager. Travel back at weekends is expected, unless geographical considerations make this problematic.
