Aerotek is currently seeking a qualified Supplier Quality Manager for a position with an alternative energy company.



Supplier Quality Manager
Required:
- B.S. Degree in Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Supplier Quality and Reliability areas.
- Five plus years of Supplier Quality Engineer experience, in related industry.
- Complete knowledge of total supplier quality assurance process.
- 3-5 years Managerial experience within Supplier Quality
- Solid track record of experience managing new product introductions and all related quality planning activities.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and Certified Auditor preferred.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining suppliers to ensure high quality standards.
- Demonstrated ability developing processes and metrics to improve and measure suppliers’ performance and support cost reduction activity.
- Hands-on experience with Six Sigma tools. Familiarity with UL, IEEE, IEC, and MIL specs.
- Demonstrated skills in managing time, multi-tasking and team leadership in “root cause” analysis and “corrective action” implementations.
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good computer skills, MS Office, MS Project, Statistical applications.

Position Description:

- Assist in design, implementation and maintenance of quality systems compliant to ISO 9001:2000 and customer requirements;
- Manage 2 Supplier Quality Engineers and 1 quality technician
- Evaluate, monitor and improve quality of supply chain partners.
- Perform supplier facility audits for compliance with United Solar quality requirements.
- Resolve design, workmanship, material and process issues affecting product quality, and initiate respective corrective actions.
- Establish and manage supplier control plans as well as yield/data reporting and ensure continuous improvement.
- Coordinate new process/product/material introductions and all related qualification testing activity;
- Develop and maintain product/material Inspection Plans and oversee incoming inspections of critical materials;
- Lead in Supplier Quality improvement teams, provide supplier technical assistance and drive supplier process improvements via applying statistical methodology;
- Communicate supplier development activities with manufacturing team. Provide necessary support to manufacturing teams on problem solving and corrective action related to supplier issues.
- Work closely with Sourcing and Product Development in developing new sources of supply, cost reduction / value engineering, and New Product Introduction.
- Develop/revise product specifications;
