The DBA will have direct responsibility to install, configure, tune, maintain, and support the organization's databases. Further responsibilities will include the maintenance and coordination of technical activities related to the Enterprise Applications required to support the business needs of the company. This role also has responsibility for administration of internal web server administration, including the Enterprise One web layer, BSD, and Eprise applications.
Develop and administer strategies for the control and sharing of company database resources and services. Ensure the stability and reliability of data access and data quality across the organization via ongoing database support and maintenance. Develop and deploy end-user practices and tools for data extraction, queries, and data manipulation in accordance with business processes. Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements. Create and document models for new database development and/or changes to existing ones through data flowcharting. Work with applications staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures. Perform database transaction and security audits. Assist with the installation and configuration of relevant network components to ensure database access, consistency, and integrity. Develop long-term goals for production databases in conjunction with data owners and department managers. Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues .Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets. Establish/implement best practices & policies for database systems including development, implementation, & maintenance of change control & testing processes for modifications for db.

Advise on the allocation of physical data storage for database systems. Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts. Work closely with the EnterpriseOne CNC Administrator to ensure all systems are configured for optimal performance. Assist in the management and administration of web applications and systems. Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications regarding pertinent database activities. Provide guidance to junior members of the team. Assist in the development of an annual Individual Development Plan (IDP) and meet all training targets as spelled out in the IDP and by corporate goals. Perform all assigned duties safely. Ability to lift computer hardware and supplies up to 40 lbs. On call availability as needed to support network operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
1. Four-year university degree or college diploma in the field of computer science and/or 7 years equivalent work experience.
2. A minimum of 5 years experience configuring, supporting and maintaining Oracle databases.
3. Experience working with Oracle 10g (release 2).
4. High level of knowledge working with clustering and GRID technology. 5. Knowledge of network and PC operating systems to include Netware, Windows 2000/XP/2003, Solaris, Unix, and Linux
6. Knowledge of Web Sphere, Apache, BSD, Eprise and other web utilities. 7. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. 8. Excellent knowledge of database storage concepts and practices including operation on a SAN.
9. Experience with programming languages such as RPG, VB, and SQL, SQL+ and C++
10. Knowledge and understanding of system of system flow charts & data processing concepts
11. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices/laws.
12. Strong interpersonal,written, and oral communication skills.
13. Able to conduct research into database issues and products and required.
