The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and developing long-term, integrated, energy services contracts and will lead the pursuit of new business opportunities by establishing strong relationships with existing and potential clients.

5-7 years experience = $80,000 + 50% Commission
7-15+ years experience = $150,000 + 50% Commission
-Identify potential customers and develop relationships with key decision makers in the client organization in order to assess opportunities with the company
-Act as primary focal point with the client
-Manage and participate in proposal preparation, pricing and presentations to customers
-Formulate and write technical proposals reflecting the strategic approach towards developing a new project
-Lead negotiations with clients, including preparation of contracts and possible structuring of financing solutions
-Manage internal development activities including technical audits by development engineers
-Must serve as a close liaison with other members in the team (operations, finance, legal, insurance, risk management, etc.) throughout the entire sales process
-Assess competitor strengths, weaknesses and strategic direction
Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
-Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline
-5 – 15 years’ experience in business development within the Energy & Utilities or Engineering Services industry
-5+ years’ experience within the commercial industry
-Proven experience working in the U.S. energy markets (natural gas, oil, coal and electricity)
-Thorough working knowledge of financial aspects of the business, including how to calculate ROI by utilizing sophisticated financial models using Microsoft Excel
-Knowledge of energy service contracts and a proven track record in closing complex deals
-Ability to build rapport with clients and listen to their needs in order to create customized client solutions
-Hands-on project experience working directly with clients
