Job Listing: Cobol AS/400 Programmer

A large company in New Orleans, LA is looking for a mid level AS/400 (I-Series) programmer for a 6 month contract to hire position. The candidate must have at least 5 years of experience working in an AS/400, Cobol, CICS, and DB2 environment. They must know how to navigate and get around the system. The candidate must be capable of handling multiple projects and tasks at a time. They must be flexible with the simplest of projects or the complexity of projects. Most of the programming they will be doing will be maintaining and some support with very little new development. An example of some day to day responsibilities will be reporting, data extraction from one system to another, some client based implementations and integrations of new systems with the clients systems.
In the next 2-4 years, they will be going to a Windows based environment . This candidate will be working with end users and in a team environment, so they must have an outgoing personality and be a go getter. Fitting in the team will be very important.

All candidates need to be eligible to pass a drug and background check.
