Job Listing: PHD APPLICATIONS MANAGER

A rapidly growing Environmental Instrumentation company has two opportunities for PHD APPLICATIONS MANAGER. This company has developed proprietary and revolutionary technology for use in Environmental testing.
The company has seen over 200% business growth, and as a result, the company is looking for two Subject Matter Experts (SME's) in the applications and methods development for isotopic ratio analysis Cavity Ringdown Spectroscopy (CRDS). These are high visibility opportunities and are essential to the company's overall bottom line.
THIS POSITION AND WILL BE LOCATED IN THE SAN JOSE, CA AREA.
Job Purpose:
In this role, the candidate will report to the Director of Marketing and will work directly with scientists in academic, government and industrial laboratories, providing data about the Company's product portfolio and supplying expertise in the field. In addition, this person will work internally with R&D team in setting the goals for future generation products. This individual will be comfortable and excited about working on the front-line of scientific contribution, and can work across traditional job boundaries..
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct demonstrations for prospective customers.
- Work with scientists on emerging techniques and trends.
- Publish papers and articles in the field of Isotopic ratio analysis.
- Attend and present papers at scientific meetings and trade shows.
- Develop requirements for next generation products. -
- Requires 25-35% travel, nationally and internationally.


Required Skills

* Ph.D. in Physical Sciences with emphasis on analytical instrumentation, preferably isotopic ratio analyses.
* 2+ years experience post-graduate isotopic ratio analyses with IRMS and/or CRDS instrumentation.
* Fluency in basic analysis and presentation software (Excel, Powerpoint) required, programming capability with Matlab or other mathematical software preferred.
*Must possess the ability to work across functional boundaries and organizational levels inside the company.
* Strong written and oral communications skills.
