Job Listing: Entry Level UNIX Admin

Under general direction of the Manager of Application Support, maintains the usability of our clients systems and applications by monitoring the systems and applications and communicating with the various technical and client services teams. Responsibilities ? Hands-On oversight of the operations for production system environments and applications, by identifying, resolving and/or escalating system issues. ? Compile and maintain Key Performance Indicators for Technology Operations. ? Effectively communicate system/application issue to technical and client services teams. ? Perform maintenance/upgrades of various system components, hardware and/or software. ? Develop and maintain various operational production support tools ? Work with product management, engineering and operation teams on enhancements to aid in support, availability and performance of systems. Qualifications (Required) ? 2+ years in a Computer/Technology Operations production environment or applicable Computer Education. ? Strong written/oral communication skills. ? Strong knowledge of UNIX and UNIX server administration via command line. ? Experience with UNIX shell scripting and Perl code. Qualifications (Preferred) ? Knowledge of Networking and TCP/IP. ? Familiarity with Windows servers and systems. ? Familiarity with VMWare and Remote server administration. ? Experience with Email and Email practices a plus. ? Availability for after hours support; nights, weekends, potential holidays. On-call duties may be required as well. Disclaimer May perform other duties as assigned.
