Leading South Florida Alternative Investment firm is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant for a newly created private equity fund. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of private equity investing and fund accounting. Relocation is available for highly qualified candidates. Please read below a summary of the position and required skill set.
SUMMARY:
-Maintenance of the partnerships and investment holding companies general ledgers, including the recording of all transactions for investments, bridge financing, related party transactions, accruals, investor receivables, payables, and management fees.
-Compile and review documentation for purchases of investments.
-Oversee partnership cash flow requirements to include the preparation of the weekly cash flow report and capital call requests.
-Review funds flow for new investment purchases and prepare wire request for Manager approval.
-Prepare the quarterly investor reporting package for the partnerships and quarterly compliance package for partnership banking facilities.
-Work along-side the Manager of Partnership Accounting to coordinate the preparation of year-end tax-basis audited financial statements and working papers.
-Assist with special projects and presentations, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Strong accounting and good tax knowledge. Prior private equity accounting experience, a plus.
-Ability to interpret and apply analysis to complex legal documents and financial transactions.
-Professional individual with solid written and oral communication skills and an energetic attitude to work within a team environment.
-Ability to prioritize several tasks at one time and meet tight deadlines.
-Ability to interact directly with Senior Management.
-Strong analytical skills and strict attention to detail.
-Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Quick Books.
EDUCATION and/or RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
-3-5 years of public accounting and/or private industry experience required.
-Strong Financial Reporting experience.
-Bachelors in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred.
-Relevant audit or tax experience in the private equity/partnership area, a must.
