Volt is seeking a talented Technical Associate for a contract-to-hire engagement for one of our top clients in beautiful Coeur d'Alene, Idaho! The hours for this role are 6am-4:30pm, Mon-Thursday (Friday's off!!)

The Technical Associate applies a comprehensive knowledge of electronic theory in practical applications. Under limited supervision analyzes mechanical and electrical systems for proper performance.

Performs modification, rework or repair to M level (medium level of conformance) on electrical assemblies. Also performs a variety of electronic and technical functions related to assembly testing.
Design electronic and mechanical circuits, instruments and/or systems to improve testing, calibration and trouble-shooting techniques. May analyze customer returned product and documents results.

Performs a variety of complex electronic and technical functions to support the developmental engineering activities related to electronic and mechanical tests.

-Analyzes, repairs ad or reworks electronic assemblies to proper conformance level.

-Works from limited documentation and written or oral instructions to evaluate the proper performance to electronic and mechanical assemblies.

-Performs operational tests and fault isolation on systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications.

-Conducts complex testing in a development mode requiring improvisation of procedures, and takes actions as directed by either function and/or malfunction of design problems.

-Provides design detail where lacking and recommends modifications where appropriate.

-Performs complex engineering tests and develops support tasks.

-May select and set laboratory test apparatus or devices.

-Prepares diagnostic tests and may assist in the design construction, test and function analyzing of complex test equipment.

-Provides work leadership and technical assistance where requested and allowed by area management.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

High degree of electronic/technical knowledge.

Ability to analyze the performance of electronic systems and circuitry.

Ability to modify, repair, and rework electrical and mechanical assemblies to the proper conformance level.

Ability to communicate on a technical level with design and
manufacturing engineers.

Ability to communicate well with both peer and management groups.

Able to conceive, evaluate and implement design changes to instruments, circuits or processes.

Able to use complex precision measurement instruments.

Ability to work with a variety of test development software programs.

Proficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheet software.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
