Company Info:
Our client is a media and marketing research firm serving radio broadcasters, cable companies, advertisers, advertising agencies and outdoor advertising companies. Their core businesses are measuring network and local market radio audiences across the United States; surveying the retail, media and product patterns of local market consumers; and providing application software used for analyzing media audience and marketing information data.

Position Summary:
Our client is a media research company that employs electronic measurement of audiences. The primary electronic products are high-speed video/audio equipment and boards, as well as, hand-held devices. They are looking for a Principal Engineer to help develop the next generation of products.

Responsibilities:
- Generate technical specifications
- Perform risk analysis
- decompose specifications to low level modular specifications for efficient H/W and S/W development
- perform power, timing and signal integrity analysis
- design the digital circuits
- create the schematics
- oversee the PCB layout
- present and defend the PDR/FDR
- develop the test plan
- validate, verify and trouble-shoot the circuits
- support software engineers
- generate the supporting technical documentation
- assist other engineers as required

7-10 Years of Experience:
- designing with FPGAs using VHDL
- interfacing microprocessors to peripherials
- troubleshooting equipment using analyzer, high speed scope, network analyzer, video/audio generators and analyzers
- creating schematics
- implementing high speed digital design practices

Additional Experience Desired:
- Altera Quartus
- ModelSim
- OrCAD Capture
- Allegro Viewer
- MPEG, video and audio equipment design

Other Skills required
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be a team player who works well in a team environment

Education
- BSEE or related
