Job Listing: NOC Engineer T1 DS1/DS3 Troubleshooting

NOC technician - Tier II:
We currently have openings for NOC technicians and Support staff to support transport work within the network operations center.

Qualified candidates will have previous experience with transmission equipment, DS1/DS3's and be proficient in with OC3's and OC 12's.

This is a 24x7 NOC so candidates must be willing to work all shifts at any time. Experience with Clarify, Netanalyst, React, and Netcool would be a plus. This position is in a helpdesk role and will troubleshoot T1s through a software.


REQUIRED:

· Understanding of T1 testing protocols and procedures.

· Excellent troubleshooting skills

· Excellent analytical and communication skills

· Self starter who can work effectively both independently and in a team environment

· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP and IP Networking

· Thorough knowledge of BGP, and OSPF. Advanced configuration experience with Cisco routers and switches mandatory.

· Thorough understanding of Layer 1 transport, DS1/DS3, troubleshooting

· Understanding of Telephony and VoIP concepts.

· Ability to work off hours and weekends.

· Experience with handling ILEC interactions

· Experience working in a large Network Operations Center environment




Desirable

· Production Internet services, ASP, CLEC, ILEC, or IXC experience

· Computer Science, Engineering or 4 year technical degree

· Thorough knowledge of SS7 and MGCP

· Experience with DMS or 5ESS switches

· Experience with UNIX shell scripting and Perl scripting

· Experience with SS7 Protocol analyzers

· Experience operating Layer 1 test equipment

· Experience with Unified Messaging Services
