Job Listing: Glass Forming Engineer

SUMMARY:
The Process Forming Engineer is part of the operations team for a solar glass manufacturing company in Arizona. This position is responsible for supporting manufacturing engineering activities in operations such as glass forming and cutting and manufacturing process support.

LOCATION: Mesa, Arizona (Phoenix Valley)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Maintain production and meet key manufacturing metrics.
-Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans as needed.
-Conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect data or assist in research work.
-Write engineering work standards as well as quality and manufacturing documentation.
-The design, construction, test and checkout of test and manufacturing equipment and fixtures if required.
-Improve the process for glass forming and cutting using lean manufacturing techniques.
-Work to train operators as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-BS degree in engineering or equivalent.
-Able to do DOE's, Process Capabilities, and Lean Manufacturing.
-Able to work in a manufacturing environment.

EXPERIENCE:
-3 years minimum of volume manufacturing experience as a mechanical, process, or industrial engineering.
-Experience with lean manufacturing techniques.
-Experience with robotics, glass slumping, glass cutting is preferred.
