Job Listing: Commodity Manager

A company in Pulaski County, VA is looking for a qualified candidate for their Commodity Position. This position will be responsible for focusing on optimizing the division’s supply chain to deliver solutions with qualitative and quantifiable results through new strategies, process, and technology. Commodity Manager is responsible for best practice methodologies and solutions to optimize the supply chain through strategic planning and analysis as opposed to tactical, daily purchasing functions. This position will involve detailed research and analysis of vendors.

Other duties include:

*Develop a strategic sourcing strategy, including analyzing existing processes, and determining functional business improvements.
*Lead negotiations with supply base to attain supply agreements that ensure on time delivery of quality product at the lowest total cost.
*Locate, analyze and develop supply base options to meet current and future business needs.

Requirements:

*A Bachelor’s degree is preferred and/or equivalent training and purchasing experience.

*Five to Seven years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is also preferable
