The Quality Engineer position is with our client whom is an industrial manufacturer of military electronics components. There will be several openings for this position beginning in October.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in quality planning activities to develop/execute the company's quality assurance strategy including policies, objectives, plans, organization, procedures, appraisals, audits and documentation
- Participate in new program/process development to identify requirements/standards/measures and use preventive tools to error proof new/revised processes
- Monitor/evaluate/improve effectiveness of current product, processes, and procedures
- Analyze program, unit, and component yields to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement
- Evaluate efficiency, scrap, defects, test, inspections, and return data to identify improvement and cost reductions opportunities
- Use and train others to use data analysis, trend identification, problem solving, and process control tools
- Perform and train others to perform root cause analysis and corrective/preventive solutions
- Train new hires concerning the Quality Policy and ISO-9000 Quality Management System
- Write and revise operating procedures and quality instructions
- Interface with customer, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Contracts, Production and Suppliers
REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree or BA degree (engineering, business, or mathematics preferred)
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred
- Critical that candidate be self-motivated and capable of working responsibly with minimal supervision
- Essential that candidate be flexible enough to work on multiple tasks with multiply teams
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong and objective analytical skills
- Detail and results oriented with decision making skills
- Working knowledge of ISO 9000 family of international standards preferred
- Customer focused
- Working understanding of Windows based PC and associated software (database queries a plus)
- Willingness to travel to other facilities, suppliers, and for training as warranted
