Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company, has an immediate opening for a purchasing agent in their Milford location.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and develop supply agreements for raw materials, equipment, commodities, and services that help ensure cost effectiveness and reliability.
- Develop and implement supply management initiatives to enhance supply base and facilitate cost improvements throughout the company's procurement system.
- Manage an effective logistics system for inventory management and product delivery that ensures customer satisfaction.
-Manage and ensure effectiveness of supply chain staff.
-Oversee and support the company's ERP and documentation systems as they relate to supply chain operations and procurement.
-Support supplier selection and verification activities through audits, research, and references.
- Provide periodic reports, analyses, and plans related to supply chain issues and metrics ranging from short-term to long-term.
- Ensure that all external suppliers and internal supply chain systems meet relevant GMP, SHE, and other regulatory requirements and guidelines.
-Perform procurement duties in support of the business relevant to MRP, capital needs, and commodities.
-Coordinate and support the cross- functional teams required to achieve supply chain goals and objectives.
Other duties are required
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in procurement and supply chain management within biotechnology, pharmaceutical or fine chemical industries.
- Chemistry degree preferred, but can be substituted for a technical BS degree.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
-Experience with developing and integrating collaborative supply chain partnerships.
-Familiar with MRP-II principles and ERP applications that support planning.
-Proven track record in establishing procurement and materials management systems a must.
-Excellent and proven negotiation skills.
-Excellent analytical skills, problem solving skills, and concern for impact and ability to explain complicated issued to different levels in the organization.
-Excellent verbal and written skills
