Sr. Software Engineer Job Description:
This position is located in Houston, TX. Candidates must be willing to relocate.
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY
Software Engineer for C++ applications development with Windows Mobile/.NET experience. The successful candidate will become part of a team that develops product software for innovative electronic medical devices. The company develops products that improve the lives of patients with neurological disorders such as epilepsy or treatment resistant depression.
PRIMARY ACTIVITIES
- Apply software engineering knowledge to the design and development of new products as well as product changes and enhancements.
- System architecture design, coding, conduct software testing.
- Generate written test protocols and reports.
- Contribute to the intellectual property position of the company via invention and patent applications.
- Provide software engineering support in the resolution of product complaints and/or safety issues.
- Work with other engineering, manufacturing, clinical affairs, sales and marketing, and quality assurance staff to coordinate pilot production of new products.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- BSEE/BSCE and 8+ years experience or MS and 5+ years of experience in the field of product software development preferably in the development of medical devices. Biomedical Engineering degree will be considered.
- Proficient in C++/C# programming, object oriented programming
- Windows CE/Mobile/.NET programming experience,
- SQL database programming experience
- Experience developing software under formal software development process.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Medical Device software development experience
- Handheld computer application development experience
- GUI programming experience
- Project Leadership experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
