Job Listing: Sr. BI Cognos Scorecard Developer

Requirements:
Work with Cognos 8 BI Metrics Studio environment to manage the clients balanced scorecard. Other assignments may include assisting with infrastructure architecture planning and in the establishment and documentation of best practices for multiple Cognos reporting environments.

Ability to work closely with senior level business managers to derive requirements.
Ability to quickly prototype solutions and estimate cost of developing long term solutions.
Above average communication skills (both oral and written).
A working knowledge of the automotive industry required, knowledge of the heavy duty truck manufacturing business is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to improve business performance through helping customers to understand and use their data.
A Team focus is required with documentation and mentoring skills in both BI best practices and technical knowledge highly desirable.
An understanding of the principles behind balanced scorecards and performance management is required.
Exposure to Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing preferred.
Previous experience with a balanced scorecard implementation


Tools/Applications:

Thorough knowledge of both hardware and software architecture of Cognos 8 (required), PowerPlay Enterprise Server (preferred), and ReportNet 1.1 (preferred).
Specific knowledge within Cognos 8 must include exposure to all of the following:
- Scorecards (candidate will have used Cognos Metrics Studio and preferably been involved in a Metrics Studio setup and deployment)
- Dashboards
- Event Management (Event Studio)
- Reporting and Analysis (advanced development ability using Report Studio and Analysis Studio)
- Data Manager
Advanced knowledge of structured query language (SQL)
Excellent knowledge of both dimensional and relational databases is required. Experience with data modeling, Informatica, DB2, and SQL Server preferred.
