Job Listing: Level 3 Network Support Engineer (CCIE)

TEKsystems is currently seeking a Level III Network Support Engineer for a client in the Itasca/Addison, IL area. Thise positions require an advanced knowledge IP (TCP/IP, MPLS) networks and CCIE or CCIE level experience troubleshooting IP networks. This position is a critical role in the Network Operations Center and candidates will be expected to be the subject matter experts for internal and external clients. Other responsibilities of this position are below:

- In response to calls for assistance from level I & II technical support engineers, provide expert assistance in evaluating, diagnosing, isolating, and repairing network faults and issues. Support and conduct troubleshooting efforts to resolve issues as they occur.
- Lead or assist with network outage recovery efforts. Develop work-arounds to problems, where possible.
- Document issues by creating and/or contributing technical content to case logs.
- Work with engineers and 3rd party vendors to arrive at permanent solutions to network issues.
- Write technical bulletins that document known issues and workarounds to them.
- Develop tools, as required, in support of the activities of the Technical Support Services organization.
- Assure complete and accurate documentation capturing the symptoms, root cause, and resolution of issues.
- Identify needs, and coordinate with and assist the supply chain organization to procure spare parts, as required.
- Conduct remote diagnostics on systems installed aboard customer property, as required.
- Achieve and maintain specific customer satisfaction goals as defined by management.
- Assist in the development of high-level (“triage”) troubleshooting procedures.
- Thoroughly and accurately document all work performed on customer property and follow-up with customer on all work performed.
- Conduct thorough operational readiness tests on all work performed on customer property to confirm repairs.

Ideal candidates for this position will have demonstrated experience working with a majority of the following technologies:

- VLAN (802.1Q, ISL, VTP, STP, MSTP, RSTP, PVSTP, Portfast, UDLD)

- ASA (encryption, user creations, VPN, site-to-site, dialup-to-LAN, ACL, CLI & web)

- FWSM (ACL, Security context)

- VoIP - (SIP, SIP Trunking), Acme Session Border Controller (SBC)

- Venturi (Compression, acceleration, web caching) and Squid

- Cisco SCE traffic shaper

- Cisco 7609 dual SUP 720

- Shell scripting (K shell, BASH)

- Server Load balancing (with probes)
