Job Listing: Technical Writer

TEKsystems client in Ft. Knox, KY is searching for an experienced Technical Writer for a 6 month contract to hire engagement. The client is searching for a candidate who writes, edits, and rewrites manuscript copies for reference manuals, operations manuals, user manuals, and programming manuals for software and computer operations. The candidate coordinates with programmers and software engineers to verify knowledge of subject in preparation for writing assignments. They will also oversee preparation of illustrative material, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts. They may also be required to assist in preparation and layout of work for publication.

Required Skills:
A thorough understanding of the publishing process and the ability to work with raw engineering data and develop it into end-user documentation.
Excellent project management, organizational and planning skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet scheduled deadlines.
Excellent ability to work either in a team environment or individually when required.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
