Job Listing: VB.NET Developer

**WE CANNOT WORK ON A CORP-TO-CORP BASIS FOR THIS POSITION.**

TEKsystems currently has a long term contract opportunity (1-2 years) available in the Southern Suburbs of Chicago. Our client is targeting an experienced IT professional with 2-3 years of VB.NET experience preferably with VB6 to VB.NET conversion experience.

This an exciting opportunity to join a team and really affect change. The project is long term and our client is considering bringing qualified individuals onto the team on a permanent basis if things are the right match.

-Develop modules according to specifications or business requirements.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate these into design documents and technical specifications.
- The ability to work with a diverse project team, including Database Developers, QA Staff, Business Analysts, and Project Managers.
- Maintain and debug existing modules.
- Perform unit testing of modifications and enhancements to ensure system integrity.

The Requirements of a Successful Candidate:

- Documented experience or education in a Windows programming environment is required.
- Have experience in the following programming language(s)/operating platforms ~ Visual Basic/VB.Net, Windows 2000/XP, SQL Server 7.0/2000, XML, ASP/ASP.Net, and HTML, C++, or Querying in FoxPro.
- Knowledge of various software development life cycle models.
- Possess a strong work ethic and be able to deliver solutions under deadlines.
- Work well in team or as individuals.
- Have the ability to reason logically and provide solutions.
- Have excellent organizational, written, and communication skills.
- Be willing to travel up to 25% (national travel only).
- Possess a BA/BS in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- MCSD Certification preferred.
