Sr Data Warehouse Analyst/Programmer
Job Summary
Responsibilities will include system and root cause analysis, design, coding, and testing. Responsibilities also include researching, analyzing, designing, proposing and delivering solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies, as well as being the technical administrator of the data warehouse. These technical duties encompass balancing optimization of data access with batch loading and/or resource utilization factors, data modeling, data acquisition and access analysis and design, and recovery strategy and load strategy design and implementation. Candidate is knowledgeable in most aspects of designing and constructing data architectures, operational data stores, and data marts. May also function as a data warehouse analyst and business intelligence administrator and will work closely with the business intelligence IT architect.

Responsibility
Specific responsibilities include:
Responsible for overseeing the development, operations and maintenance of data warehouse environment. Review, interpret, and debug complex code. Develop maintainable code via proper structures, comments, and design. Act as primary production support analyst (including on-call support).

Maintain/Support Production Reporting by ensuring availability of data and daily/monthly reports and troubleshooting load and reporting errors. Respond to performance issues for reports and data loads. Apply secondary indexes or restructure queries

Develop new reporting capabilities through requirements gathering, data analysis, and modeling. Work with the data warehouse analyst to implement required solutions. Provide estimates of work for requests for new content. Troubleshoot performance issues and errors encountered while developing new content. Research solutions with DBAs.


Education & Work Experience
Required Qualifications/Technical Knowledge Required:
5+ years progressive experience in application development and support in Oracle, PL/SQL and Unix.
Experience with data warehouse development and support.
Knowledge of Unix shell scripting, NT batch file scripting,
SQL Server Transact SQL, SQL Navigator &
SQL*Loader
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical individuals.

Knowledge of software delivery life cycle.

Must be a strong team player that thrives in a high productivity environment and enjoys being part of a solution.

Experience with Cognos Series 7, Business Objects, Crystal or other reporting tools a plus.


Educational Requirements: B.S./B.A. Computer Science or related field required
