Job Listing: Wireless Field Operations Engineer
POSITION DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Wandering WiFi has an immediate need for a Wireless Field Engineer who will provide direct support of wireless & network equipment deployments. This person will travel the country installing/repairing wireless networks in locations including cafes, restaurants, travel centers, hotels, and airports. This position requires excellent communication skills as this person will be working with upper level management on site as the “face” of the company. Direct, sizeable wireless installation experience is required.
• Involvement with the installation process from start to finish including conducting site surveys, extensive cabling, configuring equipment, installing equipment, troubleshooting equipment and wireless network, and conducting detailed installation check offs.
• Posses the ability to guide and lead less-experienced technicians
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Adept knowledge of wireless, networking, VPN, SMTP relay routing and switching
• Willing to travel on short notice and up to 75%
Required Skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 2-3 years experience in Field Operations
• Experience with start to finish, sizeable wireless installations and commercial grade equipment
• Ability to provide pre-deployment RF system testing, installation site surveys, RF interference site surveys, integration testing & modifications, detailed installation reports, installation tasks, QA inspections and in general support the activities around the deployment of wireless network equipment
